Founder of Orango Investment Corporation, co-founder of New African Capital Partners, and Chairman of PGP & Partners, Paulo Gomes is also Co-Chair of the AfroChampions initiative. He chairs the Advisory Board of the Africa–Southeast Asia Chamber of Commerce (ASEACC) and has been appointed Distinguished Visiting Fellow at the NTU-SBF Centre for African Studies, a fellowship funded by the Government of Singapore. 

Paulo Gomes has more than 30 years of experience advising governments and corporations on strategy, structural projects, and initiatives across Africa. After eight years as Executive Director at the World Bank representing 25 African countries, he co-founded New African Capital Partners, an investment firm focused on high-growth sectors on the continent. He is a founding member of the Africa Finance Corporation and the Green Climate Fund. He also founded Orango Investment Corporation, a strategic investment platform leveraging the African Continental Free Trade Area. Paulo serves on the African Union’s COVID-19 Response Fund Board and chairs several foundations. He holds an MPA from Harvard University and a degree in economics and international trade from Sciences Po and ILERI.
