Mr. Lukama graduated in International Economics (Bachelor’s) and Finance (Master’s) from the Catholic University of Louvain in Belgium in the late 1990s. He began his career in banking at Belgolaise before joining the Commercial Bank of Congo (BCDC) in the mid-2000s. In 2006, he transitioned to the mining sector, serving as Managing Director of AngloGold Ashanti in the DRC from mid-2006 to September 2014, while also chairing BCDC’s Board of Directors.

Since 2014, he has been Executive Director of Fimosa Capital, the majority shareholder (86%) of Mongbwalu Gold Mines, formerly Ashanti Goldfields Kilo. He was engaged by Gécamines in mid-2018 as an independent consultant and Chief Transformation Officer, then appointed to its Board in June 2019.

He has also chaired the Board of the Société Congolaise pour le Traitement du Terril de Lubumbashi (STL), one of Gecamines’ key assets, since July 2021.
