Dr. Obaid Saif Hamad Al Zaabi is a prominent leader in banking, finance, and securities regulation, currently serving as Chairman of the Arab Authority for Agricultural Investment and Development (AAAID). With over three decades of experience, he has played key roles in major international and regional financial institutions, including IOSCO, the IFRS Foundation, the OECD, and AAOIFI. He has notably served as Vice Chairman of the IOSCO Board, Chairman of its Emerging Markets Committee, and Chairman of the Union of Arab Securities Authorities.

He has also contributed to technical committees of the IFSB, the Financial Stability Board (FSB), and the GCC Securities Markets Committee.

Dr. Al Zaabi holds a PhD in Banking and Finance from Durham University (2006), an MBA with distinction (2000), and a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration and Accounting (1989). His professional credentials include CMA (Australia), Chartered Accountant (UK), and Certified Islamic Accountant (AAOIFI), along with membership in the Institute of Financial Consultants (USA) and the Emirates Association for Accountants and Auditors.
