Mr. Mpho Mokwele is an accomplished dealmaker with over 22 years of experience in mergers and acquisitions, corporate finance, and project finance. As Group Executive at the Development Bank of Southern Africa (DBSA), he oversees project finance, equity investment, municipal finance, and sovereign and state-owned enterprise financing across Sub-Saharan Africa. He has led the execution of more than 80 major infrastructure transactions, including 45 renewable energy projects spanning solar, wind, and biomass technologies, as well as key transport, water, and oil and gas initiatives.

Mr. Mokwele serves on the DBSA’s Investment Committee and High Impact Investment Portfolio Committee, and as a member of Proparco’s Investment Committee Advisory Board. He previously held senior roles at KPMG in mergers and acquisitions advisory. A Chartered Accountant (CA), he is also a graduate of the INSEAD Advanced Management Programme and is widely recognized for his expertise in structuring and mobilizing infrastructure investments across Africa.
