Mr. Samaila Zubairu is the President and Chief Executive Officer of the Africa Finance Corporation (AFC), where he has led transformative investments driving Africa’s industrialization, value capture, and job creation. Over his seven-year tenure, he has doubled country membership, tripled investments, and achieved record profitability, including the continent’s largest renewable energy acquisition. Under his leadership, AFC has received multiple global awards, including Pan-African Champion (2024 Africa CEO Forum) and DFI of the Year (2022 IJ Global Awards).

A pioneer in innovative financing, Mr. Zubairu previously served as the founding CFO of Dangote Cement Plc, launching Africa’s largest syndicated project finance facility. He co-chairs the World Economic Forum’s Network to Mobilize Clean Energy Investments in Emerging Markets and is recognized for advancing sustainable infrastructure across Africa. An Eisenhower Fellow and Chartered Accountant, he holds a BSc in Accounting from Ahmadu Bello University.
