His Excellency Mr. Abdallah Souleymane CHEIKH-SIDIA, Minister of Economic Affairs and Development, is a Mauritanian economist and senior civil servant with thirty years of experience in planning, public finance, and economic development at both national and international levels. He holds a Doctorate in Economic Sciences from the University of Nice (France) and is also an alumnus of the National School of Administration (ENA France – René Char Promotion) and a graduate of the Institute of Political Studies (Sciences Po). His academic background combines economic sciences, economic analysis and policy, as well as public finance, providing him with a solid and multidisciplinary education.

In service to the Mauritanian state, he has held high-ranking positions, including Minister of Finance, General Director of the CNAM, and various leadership roles within the Ministries of Planning and Economic Affairs.

On the international front, he has held responsibilities at the World Bank, the Arab Fund for Economic and Social Development (AFESD), and has represented Mauritania as Governor to several international financial institutions, including the World Bank, the African Development Bank (AfDB), the Arab Fund for Economic and Social Development (AFESD), the Islamic Development Bank (IDB), etc.
